Experience and Training

I work in both the charitable and private sectors seeing individual clients. I am particularly interested in how we balance the stresses of working lives with a fulfilling life outside of the workplace. I have worked in charitable, private and public sectors in creative industries prior to counselling work. I have particular experience working with bereavement and the multiple losses that often accompany death and with relationship difficulties and tensions. I have experience working with living with chronic illness. My work has also involved undertaking assessments for a national therapy provider and telephone consultancy for EAPís (Employee Assistance Programs).

I am registered with the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists (UKCP) through professional membership of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling. I trained as a psychodynamic counsellor at wpf, a well respected training organisation in the psychodynamic therapy field.

Working Together

I invite you to say whatever is on your mind, and sometimes it is helpful to start with whatever feels urgent. I am interested in your story and how you tell it. Over time, we will come to see that there are areas you find more difficult to talk about than others, and that you have particular habits in the way you express things. You might speak of early life experiences or you may feel that your struggles belong in the present. Together, we will begin to examine the unique ways you have drawn conclusions about the world around you and how those views feed into the ways you respond and behave now. When we spot these kinds of patterns, we can start to unpick some of the reasons why they emerged; it is often in the deeper understanding of these reasons that real relief and growth occur.
